The deb can be downloaded from Official Limewire Website or Click here for Direct Download.
After downloading it, if you double click it (LimeWireLinux.deb), you may get the following error:
Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: sun-java6-jre|icedtea-java7-jre|sun-java6-jdk|icedtea-java7-jdk
This can be solved by either adding/enabling the Lucid Partner Repository for sun-java6-jre or by modifying LimeWireLinux.deb to be satisfied with openjdk-6-jre.

It was my belief that limewire was being taken down because of its primary purpose (piracy). Now I know that not all users use it for this but most do.
ReplyDeleteI use P2P mainly for legal downloads and for study purposes. Some ISOs never make it any other way on bad bandwidth. Unfortunately I lve in a country where P2P and open peering is being demonised by security control freaks. They don't see the benefit of giving the disabled a break in life. How about young kids who have no money? Why can't they file-share if they want to or need to?

Well kids have no sense of consequence and don't realize the situation they are putting themselves in. P2P is in no way a bad thing and shouldn't be seen as a bad thing but It should be fair to say that today more people are using P2P for illegal file sharing and other piracy related motives. I was really just asking if I was incorrect about limewire getting taken down by the RIAA. Anyway I did not intend to say that you in anyway were conducting illegal acts through P2P. I understand that in the software development world it can be an effective way of distributing a development model of the application over between a select group. I am again sorry if I offended you.
